Preserving the Past and Serving the Future

IT’S TIME FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

The First Congregational Church has faithfully served the residents of Saugerties, and been a landmark in the Village, since 1853. For generations since then, the sanctuary on Main Street has been referenced as “the white church on the corner with the town clock.” Now the century-old, manually wound clock and the church tower are in desperate need of repair.

The First Congregational Church has contracted with a local restoration and painting company and leased an 85-foot lift to address the tower façade painting and repair. In addition, plans are underway to complete some past-due maintenance projects that should not be deferred any longer. The anticipated cost of these repairs and upgrades will likely exceed $50,000 and we are reaching out to our community to ask for your much needed support. Any contribution, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated.

Please know that your tax-deductible donation toward the cost of the restoration will also enable the church to continue to provide vital ministry and missionary support to those in need in our community, our country, and the world at large.

Your tax-deductible donation can be mailed directly to:

Everyone is warmly welcomed to worship with us each Sunday morning at 11am. Thank you in advance for your consideration and generosity. With your help, our church will continue to proudly serve our community just as its founders envisioned more than 170 years ago… “as a beacon of light of gospel liberty, of fraternal equality and unsectarian love.”

Sincerely,
