It's Marilyn
There are no words,
Cause she used them all.
Some of her poems, you may have heard,
They covered Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall.
She captured many moments of time, Using simple everyday issues,
In just a few short lines.
Sometimes, so beautifully written, you'd need a tissue.
Her words alone, just touched your heart,
Many of her stories, brought you back to a memory in time. So many adventures, she let us be apart.
Honoring our church clock, or a family's "Clothes line"
Her laughter was infectious, and simply delightful
And her many works of prose, Were always so spiritual.
Her messages, clear and right on the nose.
She was so special to so many,
Loved family, and friends, and the choir harmony, she found so thrilling.
Quiet moments, cryptogram's, children's pageantry. She made you feel like you won an Emmy.
To know her, was to love her. Did you guess who? It's Marilyn.
Dedicated to: Marilyn Walker
She was the oldest member of the First Congregational Church in Saugerties, NY. By Lynn Abate 5-17-2022

God's Tinsel
"Not Everything that Glistens is Tinsel"
We all know that God shows us miracles everyday, He made the plan, and He will show the way,
The path may not be easy, you could trip and sway,
But, with Gods• love, miracles can be seen, Just need to pray.
In the spring He sends April showers,
So, in the month of May, we can see the beautiful flowers, Nature shows us many miracles, I can sit and watch them for hours, From Sunrise to Sunset, and the majestic views In wonderful colors.
As summer colors change to falls many hews, The leaves take over the next few months views.
And, then we hear of the next few months happening, via the news, Winter scenes to come, sparkling and serene, but yet some feel so blue.
A short time ago, we were sent a storm, The storm was very different from Winters norm, So many had Issues with staying safe and warm,
It's power was unbridled, we weren't prepared, thou warned.
The power of the storms, had many things cancel, Even though it hit most of us like an incoming mlssle,
In viewing the lanscape, that was cloaked In God's tinsel.
It's beauty was breathtaking, so stunning this visual.
God gives us miracle everyday,
Some we don"t notice, they are not very visual,
From the many color of flowers, to the scenery we see daily, The scenes so majestic, the glistening of God's Tinsel.
Writing inspired by Ice storm of Feb 2022.
